Hand in plaster
Although his wrist is not broken as was first feared, the Canterbury cyclist, L. M. Vette, is . even worse off than if that had been the case. Vette, who crashed with M. Lltolff at English Park on Wednesday evening, dislocated a hand, in which he also broke a bone. “Apparently, it is a bone that does not receive blood, and it has had to be put in plaster,” said Vette. “It will be like that for three months, and I can only hope it wifi mend.” This has spelt an end to Vette’s track season, one which had already been interrupted by his four-week suspension during January. Nor does he ride on the road,
so it means he will probably not return to cycling until November. Litolff was luckier. He suf-
fered bruises to his back, legs and elbow but these should not cause him any inconvenience.
