(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) KINGSTON

The West Indies cricketer, C. H. Lloyd, is likely to miss the test series with New Zealand next year if he cannot provide a medical certificate as to his fitness.

Lloyd, now touring Australia with the Rest of the World side, injured his spine at Adelaide on December 18. He spent 10 days in hospital having extensive physiotherapy treatment. The West Indies Cricket Board of Control has not communicated with Lloyd since the Adelaide incident, but its secretary. Mr J. Groves, said yesterday that the board would need a medical clearance from Lloyd before considering him for the test series.

Lloyd is among a group of West Indian professional cricketers playing in England who have been invited by the board to make themselves available for selection. The New Zealanders are due in Kingston on January 31.
