Third bid
The New Zealand men’s badminton champion, R. H. Purser, of New Plymouth, is to compete in his third
All-England championships in February. But although he has won the national men’s singles title seven times, he is not confident of surviving the third round in the AllEngland event. His best previous effort was to reach the third round in 1965. On the same trip, he won the Scottish and Irish open singles. j
