Sir,—l and surely many others throughout New Zealand who happened to read the story in “The Press” today headed “Freedom Given,” where the presiding Auckland Magistrate, Mr D. G. Sinclair, discharged an escaper from Mount Eden Gaol under section 42 of the Criminal Justice Act, have had their faith in humanity greatly enhanced. —Yours, etc., CLAUDE A. COOPER. December 4, 1971.
