New Zealand firms that want skilled labour and salaried staff can use the services of “New Zealand News,” a non-profit-making weekly newspaper published in Britain, to advertise to a pool of more than 3000 skilled men.
“Most of them want sponsors so that they can go to New Zealand," says the chairman of the newspaper’s consultative board (AirMarshal Sir Hector McGregor). "A fair proportion are prepared to pay their own way if they are assured of suitable positions. “The majority of these people are just the sort of immigrants that New Zealand needs. It would be tragic if, because of lack of communication, the opportunity to secure them is missed.”
