The lot was purchased by C. Itoh and Company (Australia) Pty, Ltd, on behalf of the Nikko Wool Textile Company, Ltd, which specialises in superior quality yarn and fabrics, using all-Austraiian wools. The bale, graded as 90s quality and finer, was described by trade sources as “an exceptional display of wool,” and weighed about 2201 b. The record price obtained for Australian wool was established by the same grower in 1064, when a bale brought 1800 c per lb.
