Elephant power
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, Nov. 30. An elephant was used this afternoon to shift a two-ton trailer belonging to Ridgeways Circus which fell 30ft down a gully, three miles from Tapawera, after breaking loose from the truck'towing it. The trailer was carrying about 30 bales of feed for the circus animals.
Mr C. Ridgeway jun., said that the elephant, Helen, had often pulled out 14-ton and 15-ton trucks bogged in mud.
