Two Burwood teams in quarter-finals
Two Burwood teams were still in contention after the quarter-finalists were found yesterday in the Christchurch women’s annual Rose Bowl bowling tournament.
The skips to continue today in the hope of reaching the final this afternoon are Mesdames J. Steele (Burwood), A. Beazley (Linwood), A. Murphy (Shirley), R. O’Neill (Morrison Avenue), R. Laurenson (Rangiora), E. Martin (St Albans), A. McLeavey (Papanui), and A. Forbes (Burwood). A blustering nor’-wester again made accurate bowling difficult, but the conditions did not prevent some tense struggles.
Yesterday’s post-section play was at the Burwood and Woolston W.M.C. greens, and today’s final rounds will be at Woolston W.M.C. Results:— FIRST ROUND Mln N. Sisson (Morrison Avenue) 24, Mrs M.
