It needs exceptional young men to assist in the design and introduction of this system and to fill a number of specialist positions throughout the department. To get these men, the department offers a limited number of full-time university study awards to students taking (or about to take) the Accountants’ Professional qualification, the Bachelor of Commerce degree, or the Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree. These management accountants of the future will be associated with the financial control of works in a department responsible for $250 million a year. The variety of construction and allied activity is unrivalled and they should be able to feel a sense of personal identification with the proposals with which they will be concerned.
