Visit by ‘bunnies '

An Auckland promoter, Mr M. C. Stott, in conjunction with the Porirua Shopping Centre Promotional Association, plans to bring five of Hugh Hefner’s “Playboy bunnies” to New Zealand for a three-week tour next Easter. He hopes the “bunnies” will be in Christchurch for two days. It is hoped that actress, Claudia Cardinale, will lead the “bunny” team. If she is not available “Playboy’s” “bunny of the year” and three “bunnies of the month” will probably come to New Zealand. The girls will earn about $lOOO a week in New Zealand, and the tour will be covered for “Playboy” magazine.

The girls will visit tourist resorts and shopping centres throughout the country. Centres in the South Island that the “bunnies” will visit, besides Christchurch, are Mount Cook, Dunedin, and Queenstown. Mr Stott said hotel chains were planning to use the girls as dinner-date attractions, but under the New Zealand labour laws the girls would not be able to serve meals or drinks, or sell cigarettes.
