Court cleared
The public were ordered from the Number 1 Magistrate’s Court by Mr E. S. J. Crutchley, S.M., yesterday while medical evidence was heard on the fitness to plead of an elderly woman who was charged with wounding a seven-year-old boy with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
On the application of her counsel, Mr S. G. Erber, the woman was not present in Court while the evidence of two doctors was taken. The name of the woman and the content of the evidence were suppressed. At the end of the hearing the woman was committed to Sunnyside Hospital as a special patient under section 39g of the Mental Health Act, 1969. *
