TEN-PIN BOWLS

World Cup to student

(N.ZP. A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG.

An American student, R. Dalkin, won the ten-pin bowling World Cup championship, beating the Mexican, B. Corona, in a dramatic final. Balkin, a 21-year-old student at Georgia Technical College, in Atlanta, made a great come-back on the last frame to win by 542 pins to 524. The game scores were 169, 181 and 192 to Corona's 167, 187 and 170.

,Balkin had set a burning pace, but it looked as though all his hard work migth have been in vain when he went into the third and last game trailing Corona by four pins.

Corona, a liquor store proprietor from Tijuana, who finished third in the 1968 World Cup at Guadalajara, saw the title slip from his grasp in the ninth frame when he left a split. Dalkin stepped up on the last frame, converted a spare, and then rolled a strike to win the cup.
