Increase of 42%

WELLINGTON, Nov. 29.
Theoretical increases of up to 42 per cent on former award rates are contained in the Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson, Westland and Canterbury Ice Cream Manufacturers’ Employees’ Award. The increases represent both a trend towards closing the gap between award and actual rates and an up-dating increase of 26 per cent from April 12 which was consented to by the Remuneration Authority on May 17. It shows up now because no application was made to the Arbitration Court to incorporateit at that stage.
