Hutt Valley games off
All men’s and women’s softball fixtures in the Hutt Valley, including the Hutt Valley-Canter-bury senior women’s representative matches, were postponed at the week-end.
The decision to postpone all games was made by the Lower Hutt City Council on Friday, when, after a week of rain, it ruled all the Hutt Valley grounds unplayable. Results of senior men’s championship matches in other centres were:—
Wellington.—Miramar 2. Island Bay 0; Melrose 10, Porirua 0; Broadway 1, Titahi Bay 0; Johnsonville 7, Poneke 3; Miramar 11, Johnsonville 1.
Auckland.—Marist 1, Eden 0; United 9, Cornwall 0. Dunedin. University 21, Dodgers 1; Green Island 10, Kia Toa 5; Alhambra 19, Star 1. Wanganui.—Braves 4, Aces 3; Kiwi Red Sox 10, Marton All Stars 7.
