HOSPITAL VISITORS
A satisfactory year was reported at the Hospital Lady Visitors’- Association annual meeting. Assistance to convalescent patients had varied considerably. A number leaving hospital had received financial assistance for convalescent home fees. The Occupational Therapy Department had asked for assistance, and the association lent a portable sewing machine for use in the department. ; During the year the work of the association’s library service had been extended to the Christchurch Women’s Hospital. Libraries at Christchurch, Princess Margaret, aind Burwood hospitals were functioning well. Officers elected: President, Mrs J. J. Mulligan; vicepresidents, Mesdames L. R. Ower, C. Thomas, A. M. Turner; honorary secretary, Miss S. Thompson; assistant honorary secretary, Mrs G. W. Armitage; treasurer, Mr K. S. Jameson; committee, Mesdames C. D. Acland, B. Bell, St G. W. Chapman, G. R. Hicks, H. S. Jones, J. R. Maling, C. A. Rattray, and H. E. Wright.
