FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation: Pressure continues relatively high to the north and north-west of New Zealand and low in the south. A strong west to' south-west airstream flows over the country. Forecast:
Canterbury and Marlborough.—Fresh north-westerlies predominating, winds strong at times in some inland valleys. Scattered showers about the Alps, but fine or partly cloudy weather otherwise, with rather warm afternoon temperatures.
Nelson.—Fresh west or south-west winds. A few isolated showers about the western ranges, otherwise fine, mild weather.
Buller and Westland.—Moderate westerlies. Unsettled and cool, with occasional showers. Rather cool.
