WATER-SAFETY INSTRUCTION
A meeting to instruct parents of young children on water hazards for the todler will be held by the Christchurch Parents Centre at Aldersgate next Wednesday evening. An address on the time factor in drowning will be given by Dr R. A. Fairgray, medical superintendent of Christchurch Public Hospital. Instruction in mouth-to-mouth resuscitation will be given by Royal Life Saving Society and St John Ambulance instructors, and Mr S. E. Nicol, president of the Christchurch branch of the R.L.S.S. and the National Water Safety Council.
Hiis demonstration will include actual practical instruction for the parents and demonstrations with mannikins.
The Parents’ Centre garden party held recently at the home of Mr and Mrs Hugh Adams, was well attended and a bring-and-buy stall
raised more than $95 which will be used to further the centre’s work. ; Guest of honour at the party was the Mayoress (Mrs Pickering).
