In the quarter-finals, Laver beat R. Lutz (United States), 7-6, 6-4; Pasarell beat C. Drysdale (South Africa), 6-3, 6- Rosewall beat M. Reissen (United States), 6-0, 3-6, 7- Ashe beat T. Okker (Netherlands), 7-6, 6-4.
Power boating.—A south-west wind and rain caused the postponement of the New Brighton Power Boat Club’s regatta at Lake Forsyth yesterday. Fifty boats from seven South Island clubs could not race on the white capped water. The regatta will be held on November 28.
