Taylor has 9/51
Last week, the test cricketer, B. R. Taylor, expressed doubts about being able to bowl at full pace this season because of an ankle injury. He used a short run on Saturday—but still returned devastating figures. Playing for Wellington and College Old Boys in the Wellington senior competition, Taylor took nine for 51 against a powerful Kilbirnie team—and they were all the wickets to fall. D. O. Neely declared his team’s innings closed at the fall of the ninth wicket. Kilbirnie has a former test batsman, B. W. Sinclair,
in its team, and other first-class batsmen in B. D. Smith and Neely. R. O. Collinge, the test bowler, is also a member of the side.
