Carpet passed in
A Persian carpet commissioned by Adolf Hitler in 1939 but not completed until after the end of World War 11, failed to sell at auction in London yesterday. The halfton. 1000 sq. ft carpet, which was expected to bring $214,000, was withdrawn at $24,600. Bidding began at $10,715. It will probably go to the United States for auction, said a spokesman for the auctioneers.—London, Nov. 14.
