I Four traffic officers who are; : members of the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s staff work in shifts 1 to keep the waterfront under' surveillance. When cargo work! is going on, day or night, one 1 of these officers is on duty. I Extra surveillance is given! when the inter-island steamer Maori arrives or leaves because of the increase in traffic. Graham) who can speak to the mobile traffic officer by radio-telephone from his office in the Port Building.
