After three rounds Merivale-. Papanui still leads the senior Ai suburban cricket competition by! six points from Sumner. Playing at Burnside, MerivalePapanui gained an outright victory. Requiring 49 runs for victory. Merivale- Papanui scored the runs for the loss of only: four wickets and gained 15 bonus points for the match. At Sumner the home team scored an exciting outright victory over Waltham and gained 19 bonus points. s Declaring its second innings' closed at 45 for five, Sumner! left Waltham 131 runs to score in 135 minutes. After an excellent start Waltham soon lost wickets, finally being all out fori 117. G. Cowles five for 55 and' five for 37 had a good match for Sumner. In a grandstand finish at Denton Oval, Hornby beat Heathcote outright, gaining its victory from the last ball of the day.. For Hornby R. Wilson bowled well to take seven for 24.
