Founder's day About 500 members of the Canterbury Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade took part in their annual founder’s day church parade through Christchurch yesterday afternoon. A service was held at Christchurch Cathedral and among the guests was a 96-vear-old founder member of the Boys’ Brigade in Glasgow, Mr J. Baas. Mr and Mrs A. R. Guthrey also attended the service.
Scout awards
Awards made by the Scout Association to adult members in recognition of their services to the movement are Medal of Merit, Mr R. G. Day (Hokitika), Mrs M. E. McDonald (Waimate); Chief Scout’s Commendation, Messrs M. A. Cook (Christchurch), E. R. Keebie (Rotherham), and Mrs M. Mosley (Christchurch).
