Farming
Sir—l was interested to read “Farm Manager’s” letter. I am a small farmer trying to get ahead. Could he give me the recipe of how to save to buy a larger holding when, 10 years ago, we received up to £4 9s ($8.90) for lambs and recently 1 received $4.30 for lambs? What I received in pounds six years ago for my wool I am now receiving in dollars. Can he name any other commodity that has halved its value while costs have doubled? —Yours, etc., STRUGGLING FLAT OUT. October 8, 1971.
