Generator faults
(N.Z. Press ■ Association) INVERCARGILL, Oct. 10. Further difficulties are being experienced with the hydro-electric power generators at West Arm, Manapouri. Three generators have just been put back into commission after being repaired for a fault in the turbines but now several of the other generators are causing trouble. The district manager of the Electricity Department at Dunedin (Mr G. B. Collie) described the problem this evening as "just teething troubles.” Mr Collie said there was no likelihood of power shortages, as full power could be supplied to the grid by four generators while the other three were used as reserves.
