His condition was described! as fair. Watson, the driver of Belmer ; Lady in the Regal Yankee Handicap, was thrown against the running rail and landed on the inside of the track when his horse, and Ann Arbor, collided toon after the start. An inquiry into the incident showed that Belmer Lady, which had broken at the start, was attempting to go on the inside of Ann Arbor when the latter, which had broken some of her I -ear at the start and was galoping, ran in on to Belmer Lady, dislodging Watson from the sulky. .. . It was found that the incident was accidental, as D. G. Nyhan, the trainer driver of Ann Arbor, was not completely in control of his horse because of the broken gear.
