Yachting award
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The 1970-71 “Yachtsman of the Year” award has been (made to the Auckland designer, sailor and administraI tor, R. L. Stewart.
The award was announced at a meeting of the executive council of the New Zealand Yachting Federation on Saturday. It was made to Stewart for his service to yachting over the last 50 years.
Apart from being one of the country’s foremost amateur yacht designers, he has
been the chairman of numerous R.N.Z.Y.S. service committees.
