TALKS WITH GOVT
Builders pleased (N.Z. Pr6ss Association) WELLINGTON, October 10. A Government agreement to meet the New Zealand Master Builder’s Federation four times a year was described as “a giant step in the right direction,” by the federation’s president (Mr L. B. Street).
The suggestion to meet came, he said, from the Minister of Works (Mr Allen), who had told a Master Builders’ Federation deputation in Wellington that he was concerned about the amount of “sniping” at the Government over building programming. Mr Street told Mr Allen that the Government must accept responsibility for “a breakdown in communication” with the building industry. Mr Allen agreed that better public relations were needed.
