MEDAL FOR SAVING ST PAUL'S.—The man who saved St Paul's Cathedral, London, in 1940, Mr G. Wyllie, now aged 62, being presented with a gold medal, the first in a series for the Save St Paul’s Appeal, by the Dean, the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan. Mr Wyllie, a sapper in the Royal Engineers in 1940, defused a one-ton German bomb which landed on the road outside the Cathedral For his gallantry he was awarded the George Cross.
