Shoot held at Ashburton
T. Everett, jun., (Belfast) won the double rise championship, the main shoot of the day at the Ashburton Gun Club’s competition, in Ashburton on Sunday. There were 18 entries. Shooters had to master difficult conditions, with a strong north-westerly wind blowing across the field. R. Brown, the club’s president won the Air New Zealand T.A.A. qualifying shoot by shooting 19 of the 20 targets and will represent the club at the South Island final Jater in the year. W. Johnson and J. Tate were runners-up. Results were:— Ten bird eye-opener.—Everett 10, R. Brown, G. Read, R. B. Everett, H. J. Stevens, R. Harrison, R. J. Martin 9. Ten bird aggregate.—R. B. Everett, T.
