Hot pants, but in private
YN.jA.A.-Reuter— Copyright) SINGAPORE, Sept. 8. Singapore’s discotheque set has taken eagerly to hot pants, in spite of the Government’s disapproval of “Western fads and fetishes,” and the fashion shows no signs of flagging. The shorts are never worn during the day, but are seen in the evening at private parties, in bars and in the discotheques of the luxury hotels around which revolves much of the social life of wealthy young Singaporeans. So far as Singapore is concerned, hot pants will remain the fashion of the few. The vast majority of girls draws the line at mini-skirts three or four inches above the knee.
