Kaiapoi wins Avon Cup The Kaiapoi Model Aero Club won the Avon Cup by a narrow margin in the annual free-night contest against the Christchurch club, held at Yaldhurst in clear conditions, recently. An elusive lift late in the morning, with a steady breeze, took flights of three minutes almost out of visibility. Results were:— , Hand-launched glider. Kaiapoi: B. Turner 329, P. Wheeler 239 W.
