State visit
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 8. The Governor-General and Lady Porritt will make a State visit to Australia from October 27 to November 7. “Sir Arthur and Lady Porritt have accepted an invitation extended by the Australian Governor-General (Sir Paul Hasluck), who visited New Zealand with Lady Hasluck in February," the Prime Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake) said. “This exchange of visits reflects the close ties between Australia and New Zealand, and reaffirms the importance of the Tasman partnership.” A programme for the visit was now being prepared by the Australian Government. The Prime Minister said he 'expected that, in addition to (visiting Canberra, Sir Arthur land Lady Porritt would also | spend some time in Hobart, I Melbourne and Sydney.
