Shredding plant idea

AUCKLAND, Sept. 7.
A Wellington company has asked the Auckland Regional Authority for help m setting up a system for disposing of old cars, washing machines and other goods. The company, R. C. Macdonald, Ltd, is considering setting up a shredding plant which would produce a product from metallic waste that could be sold in New Zealand as steel-making feed. The authority has yet to discuss the suggestion.
Attitude of pilots.—The National Airways Corporation pilots are to rescind their “withdrawal of good will” attitude to work as soon as a date has been named for hearing their loss-of-margins dispute, the secretary of the Airline Pilots’ Association, Captain K. J. W. Dickson, said yesterday.—(P.A.)
