Metal trades conciliation
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. Conciliation proceedings on the New Zealand metal trades award will begin again on Wednesday, September 15, the Minister of Labour (Mr Marshall) said today, after meetings with representatives of the metal trades employers and the Engineers' Union.
“This arrangement,” said Mr Marshall, "was on the clear understanding that normal work would resume immediately at those factories where the union was taking direct .action against the employers/’
