N.Z. man heads world group

A New Zealander, Mr Felix Wood, chairman and managing director of Wood and Mitchell Advertising, Ltd, a national New Zealand agency, has been appointed president of Intemaional Markets Advertising, a grouping of independent advertising agencies in 46 countries, linked on a firm contractual basis to provide branch office services for all partners.

Mr Wood is the third president, and the first outside

Europe, since the group was founded in Paris 15 years ago. He has been a member of the board for 10 years, and vice-president of the AsiaPacific region for the last seven years. During his two-year term, he will be responsible for directing from New Zealand the international activities of the entire group. He will preside at regional conferences in Australia, Sweden, and America next year, and at the biennial conference of all partners to be held in Auckland in 1973. In 1970 the group moved to strengthen its international capactiy by establishing an agency based in New York. Wholly owned by 12 of the I.M.A. partners, including Wood and Mitchell Advertising, the new corporation is known as International Markets Advertising Agency Inc. It acts as the administrative headquarters for 1.M.A., and has the responsibility for co-ordinating international business development and servicing.
