The Northern Steam Ship Company’s mall bulk carrier. Dido, a regular carrier at Lyttelton, is loading 1850 tons of bulk wheat for Auckland.

Since last October 1, the beginning of the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s financial year, 15,469 tons of grain has been loaded at the Lyttelton silo for the North Island. All of it has been carried by Northern Steamship Company vessels. Two vessels owned by the Japan Line are in port. They are the refrigerated cargo liner, Japan Kauri, which is discharging general cargo and will load refrigerated and general cargo for return, and the Japan Kowhai, which is loading mutton for Japan.
