Ayrshire’s record
This outstanding Ayrshire cow. Ora Cristabel, produced 23,8941 b of milk and 12791 b of butterfat in 305 days last season at eight years of age. Owned and tested by Mr and Mrs K. W. Shaw, of Straftord and formerly of Levin, she was actually credited with extended days to complete a fat production of 13031 b in 316 days. In her last three lactations she has produced 8011 b, 11121 b and 12791 b of fat. During these lactations she travelled to several shows each season and won 13 breed championships and reserves, five dairy cow championships and reserves and five market milk classes. Cristabel has broken her own record only one season after becoming the breed’s highest producer for all time. Another member of Mr and Mrs Shaw's herd has also created a new Ayrshire production record for a three-year-old. She is Snowline Lei VHC, whose record last season was 13,8711 b of milk and 8221 b of fat in 299 days. She has broken the old record by 371 b.
