B.H.P. steel output up

The Broken Hill Proprietary Company, Ltd, produced 606,304 .tons of steel ingots during July, compared with 600,098 tons during the same month last year, it says in a production report. The company also produced 538,133 tons of coal (775,292), 1,636,620 tons of ironstone (1,284,060), 197,598 tons of limestone and limesand (227,866), 31,805 tons of dolomite (19,146), and 112,363 tons of manganese (59,145).
Output from the company’s bloom and slab mills was 524,355 tons (527,945), from the heavy and continuous mills 263,630 tons (255,949), from the plate and strip mills 207,000 tons (212,192), and .from the merchant mills 155,501 tons (141,756). Output from the rod mill was 43,573 tons (51,163) and from the cold rolling mill 49,549 tons (46,763), and production of tinplate was 26,397 tons (26,102).
