Wheel flies off
Two women and their children narrowly escaped injury when the wheel of a loaded cattle truck flew off, smashed a shop window and ricocheted on to the roof of their car in Tinwald yesterday morning.
The double wheel crashed into the front window of a shop owned by Mr T. Grant on the main road, scattering glass and vegetables across the floor. The wheel bounced away, hit the roof of the car at speed, and ended several yards down the road.
The truck slewed to a halt some distance further on. The driver was unhurt.
