Golf final to Weaver
PINEHURST (North Carolina). D. Weaver, an obscure, American non-winning tour regular, romped out to a big early lead and coasted to a sixstroke victory over P. Rodgers (United States) in the title match of the United States pro fesslonal match-play championWeaver, a greying, 31-year-old veteran of seven years on the professional circuit, had a final round of 71, one under par, in his clash with Rodgers for the *35,000 first prise, by far the largest cheque of-his career. Rodgers had a 77. Ken Still (United States) beat the Australian, B. Crampton, 7* to 76 In their struggle for third place on the 6*73 yard Country Club of North Carolina course.
