Unrest at taxi stands (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. Taxi owners were becoming increasingly concerned about their safety, the president of the Taxi Proprietors’ Federation (Mr M. A. Warn**) said at the federation’s conference in Wellington today. General unrest at taxi stands in the main centres, particularly after hotel closing at 10 pjn, had assumed serious proportions, he said.

“It is so serious that taxi proprietors, in the interests of personal safety, are reluctant to service these areas.”
