THIRD TIME ROUND
"Listen with Mother’* (N.Z. Press WELLINGTON, Aug. 18. The present series of “Listening with Mother” was not being broadcast for the first time, said the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr Walker) yesterday. Replying to a Parliamentary question from Dr A. M. Finlay (Lab., Henderson), Mr Walker said the series had been broadcast twice before. Dr Finlay asked if those responsible for the preparation and production of the programme received any remuneration for such further broadcasts, and Mr Walker replied that the original contract gave the corporation unlimited rights to the number of times it might use the material. He added that he’ understood this was the last time the present programmes would be broadcast. Dr Finlay had said the author of the programmes had written to a publication saying the material was out of date, and that she had no control over the programmes.
