Rugby on television
Sir, —I acknowledge receipt of your letter of July 14 and the copy of the enclosed letter received from Mr H. J. Anderson on the subject of live telecasts of the fourth Rugby test in Auckland. My executive committee have directed me to inform you that, after consideration of the very many factors involved, a resolution was adopted at the annual general meeting of this union, several years ago, not to permit live telecasts of club, provincial or international matches under the jurisdiction of this union. This resolution has been reaffirmed at each subsequent annual meeting.—Yours, etc., R. E. MORGAN, Secretary, N.Z. Rugby Football Union, Wellington, July 28, 1971.
