Tug “working well”
The new tug Canterbury had been used on 24 ships in the last week and was handling very well, the harbourmaster (Captain D. Holden) reported to the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday. “She is doing 75 per cent of what the tugmaster wants her to do, and I am quite sure that in a while will be doing 100 per cent,” he said. The tug now entered its maintenance period of four months during which the Whangarei Engineering Company was responsible for fixing any defects, the chief engineer (Mr J. B. Busheli) said.
There was nothing majoi requiring attention. There were many minor things which would always be expected in such a complex vessel.
