Wage offer rejected
Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. Negotiations for a new oilstore .employees’ award have broken down in conciliation council.
A union spokesman said today that the New Zealand Storemen and Packers’ Federation and the Auckland Storemen and Packers’ Union (which is not part of the federation) had rejected an employers’ offer of 124 per cent because such an amount would be inadequate to maintain relativities. No date has been set for more talks.
