Rothmans net 10 p.c. higher
(A’.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 4. Th* unaudited net profit of Rothmans Tobacco Company, Ltd, increased about $112400, or 10 per cent, to $1,281,710 in the year to June 30, the directors say in a preliminary report. The provision, for tax was $51,640 higher at $1,400,936 and the provison for depreciation was $22,81# lower at $451,556. A final dividend of 6} per cent is recommended, making 12} per cent for the* year.
When the five-for-seven bonus issue was announced the directors said that they expected to be able to service the increased capital at a minimum rate of 12 per cent per annum.
Tke 12} per cent dividend represents an increase in the dividend-rate of 041 per cent compared with the pre-bonus rate. -■
