FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A depression over the north Tasman Sea is moving slowly south and an intense anticyclone is moving slowly northeast over the Chatham Islands area. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate easterly winds pyarinminating; overcast and cool; scattered light rain. Marlborough and Nelson.—North-east winds, strong at times; cool; periods of rain in most places.
