Problems at corner
The comer of Cranford' Street and the Main North Road has marked traffic lanes, for the various turning move-1 ments, but are all in conflict, with no right of way to any particular vehicle. Safety at the comer has been raised by the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Transport and the police, the traffic committee reported to the City Council last evening.
The Ministry of Works asked for a no-right-tum sign against traffic turning south into Cranford Street, but the council discarded this in favour -of a give-way sign. The only real solution would be the installation of traffic signals and this had been made clear to the Ministry of Works, the committee said.
