Generally mixed tone in Australia
All sections of the Australian stock market were mixed yesterday.
Woodside closed 1c higher at 130 c, and the 30c paid shares improved 5c to 80c. Bounty, and Timor were marginally firmer. Magellan eased 5c to 190 c. Bougainville eased 5c to 320 c, and New B.H. fell 10c to 1160 c. Poseidon, and
Queensland Mines dropped 50c each, while Kathleen Investments rose 2c to 784 c.
Hamersley reacted mildly to its increased profit report firming 5c to 425 c. Metals Ex. rose 30c to 560 c, and Cons. Gold put on 4c to 784 c.
W.M.C. eased 7c to 383 c, and Gt Boulder was fractionally lower. Peko dropped 30c to 920 c. Spargo’s was marked down 20c to 190 c, and Mareeba eased 12c to 78c. B.H.P. firmed 25c to 1415 c, but Comalco eased 15c to 370 c. C.S.R. rose 4c to 552 c, and Fairymead put on 7c to 205 c.
Ampol and Sleigh dropped 2c each. E.Z.I. fell 10c to 315 c.
